Course Description

Ch1:

We start from the fundamental skills of algebra such as connecting one/several statements to their equations/expressions and solving/simplifying them. Then, we will learn some important mathematical notations like absolute values or exponents. We will also talk about how to convert units.

Ch2:

In this chapter, we will talk about the most important concept in mathematics— functions. Including the meaning, graphs and operations of functions, composite functions, and other common functions. Among these functions, linear functions and exponential functions are the most popular when it comes to the SAT. In addition to functions, we also learn how to solve linear equation systems.

Ch3:

After understanding functions, the next on the list are polynomials and quadratic functions. In this chapter, we will talk about the features of polynomial functions and quadratic functions; the factorization of them; and how to solve quadratic equations. A few famous discriminants are also introduced. And of course, we would talk about some common word problems of quadratic functions.

Ch4:

In this chapter, we will learn to simplify rational or radical functions and solve their functions. Simplifying a rational function is important because although using a calculator is allowed, you can save time for some complicated questions.

Ch5:

Geometry, a chapter many students struggle in. We start from simple 2D shapes and 3D regions and move on to more to difficult topics such as trigonometry and circles.

Ch6:

The probabilities and statistical diagrams in the first part of the last chapter is rather simple. However, in the second part, particularly standard deviations, is where things start to get a little hard. But need not worry, there is not much variation in the type of questions there are, so we can easily tackle each type with enough practice.
